Jim is a 5th generation Oklahoman who was born and raised in Oklahoma City. Jim’s dad served as a firefighter and EMT and his mom was a nurse for 48 years. He graduated from Putnam City High School in 2002 with honors and graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and an Accounting minor. While at OSU, Jim met his lovely wife, Danna, a country girl from Barnsdall, OK. Danna also graduated from OSU with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in International Business.
Jim and Danna have been married for 15 years and have two daughters, Micah Jo (9) and Jadah (7), whom they homeschool. The Shaw family moved to Chandler in 2021 to provide their girls with the experience of raising animals and roaming free in the woods. They quickly settled into their new community, joining First Baptist Church Wellston, where they actively attend today and are involved in various local extracurricular activities for their girls. The family has also enjoyed building out their Chandler property, ACGS Ranch, ACGS stands for “All Creatures Great and Small,” a nod to the Shaw’s beloved collection of animals ranging from cattle all the way down to little sugar gliders.
Jim has had a rewarding professional life. In 2003, as an undergraduate, Jim took an internship with Chesapeake Energy and was employed there full-time upon graduation where he managed a team within Land Administration providing support for all major asset sales and numerous departments.
In the fall of 2012, Jim left Chesapeake and became co-owner and business partner of Land Information Services (LIS) where, as President and COO, Jim facilitated in pioneering new software technology for the industry. During his tenure with LIS, Jim successfully led the company and was even selected as an honoree to Hart Energy’s E&P+ 40 Under Forty list. In 2022, Jim and his business partner sold LIS to PakEnergy, where Jim currently leads more than 80 employees in the software and business unit he helped create.
Jim was raised in a conservative household and is focused on passing those values on to his daughters. Jim’s campaign is all about preserving the Land, Livelihoods and Legacies of his friends and neighbors so that his girls and all future generations are able to grow up in the beautiful, free Oklahoma that he so deeply loves.
